Battlefield 4 is still broken and why you should care about it

Welcome Ben Kuchera to Polygon, and boy is his first piece a doozy. His opinion piece Battlefield 4 spoltlights EA’s inability to launch games, treat players with dignity dropped today and hit on a subject I talked a little about last month in December. DICE and EA losing respect for unapologetically delivering a broken game, which Battlefield 4 is still broken, and expecting no ramifications for their actions, or lack of actions in this case.

Reading the article, Ben has made great points, many of which that I couldn’t have even dreamed of making, let only write about, but the thing that hit me the hardest is this, “It’s been fascinating to talk to the players about this situation, because so many seemed resigned to broken games as a state of normalcy for EA products.” Really? We, as gamers are just taking it up the ass? Why are we doing this? Why are we accepting this? $60 for a broken game is criminal. Sure hundreds of thousands of people are paying $30 for an unfinished DayZ, but at least they know what they’re getting themselves into.

Allow me to pick up my megaphone and stand on my soapbox people. Gamers! Stop accepting mediocrity, stop accepting garbage products! The publishers, the developers need you, you don’t need them. Take your Battlefield 4 copies back, get what money you can for them, don’t support the DLC, don’t support EA until something is done about their careless business practices. CEO’s are laughing at you, they think you’re children banging on controllers, but we know better, we’re intelligent consumers who control what comes out of our wallets. Tell your friends, don’t stand for this.

Woo, that felt good. Didn’t it?
