Nintendo, now jumping on the Skylanders Bandwagon, has announced that there will be a new Pokemon Rumble game coming to Japan this April. With this announcement, they have also shown that Pokemon Rumble U will be using its NFC technology to allow players to collect and use around 649 different Pokemon figures with the Wii U game pad.
The initial release brings with it 7 Pokemon, 6 of which have been announced to include: Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Victini, Lucario, Torchic, and Pinlup. The 7th figure is supposedly a secret, which may mean that Nintendo will be releasing a 6th gen Pokemon, which would further increase the number of figures to around 800+. The game itself will retail for $19.99+tax and each figure will be about $2.00+tax giving the whole game a price tag of just over $1300.
While this may be a little pricey for the average gamer, many Poke-fanatics will be over joyed when Nintendo finally announces the game is shipping over seas. I know I will be one of the first in line to start scooping up my figures! The only real downside is all the booster figures will be sold in blind capsules which means you can expect you will need to trade up for specific ones!
But hey, Gotta catch’em all!
