Uncanny X-Men #1
“The New Revolution”
New look, new swagger, new mission. Cyclops is broken by the phoenix force that once made him a god, now with new mutants popping up all over the globe, he plans to build a new batch of X-Men out of the ever growing population. Those close to him are growing weary, and others have plans of their own.
Brian Michael Bendis is killing it right now, he already has an extremely popular All New X-Men books that’s phenomenal, and now he’s brought that same explosive presence into the new Uncanny X-Men #1. It almost seems as though Bendis and Matt Fraction can do no wrong at this point, Matt Fraction of course is working on other Marvel books, most notably Hawkeye that’s one helluva book in its own right.
Uncanny X-Men #1 tears at your moral compass, almost forcing an ongoing debate whether to join Cyclops revolution, or band with others to fight it. Also, all of the new costumes are pretty cool, new mutants on the team have some pretty sweet powers, and Magik turned into a complete badass. So badass in fact that I went and bought her first appearance as Magik in The New Mutants #14 (I’ve yet to read it though).
I’m joining the revolution, I rooted for the X-Men in Avengers vs X-Men, and I’m rooting for them now too.
